[Pilot-Unix] prc-tools 0.4.0a, new gcc released
Hi all. Here is the announcement for prc-tools 0.4.0alpha. If you're
ok with alpha test code, and can help us shake it out before it's
completely public, pick up a copy...
ftp://ftp.pfnet.com/pub/PalmOS/ALPHA
There are binaries for Linux there for the impatient, but I would ask
that ppl try to build it themselves so we get the bugs out.
Please note that this code should be considered alpha quality, but
is much improved from prc-tools 0.3.2. Included in this release is
the new patches for gcc and headers from Kresten Krab Thorup
mailto:krab@california.daimi.aau.dk Still missing is pilrc1.1
major improvements include...
-No more macros, the compiler generates code to access all 'sections'
correctly.
-Soft floating point support
-Headers are placed in system wide locations, no need to cart them
around with your source.
-System traps are now genenerated by the compiler, not with syscall
macros. The headers require much less changes now.
-This all means we should be close to source compatible with Codewarier.
-Preliminary support for c++
Many thanks to all who helped out from both Kresten and I!
