pilot-link needs Palm units to continue development!
In order to stay in step with the recent changes in Palm devices and the core Operating System that runs the hardware, development devices are needed! If you have any of the following units, new or used, and wish to donate them to the cause, so that we can better support them, please consider it.
- TapWave Zodiac: New HotSync implementation
- Tungsten E or Tungsten T3: New database API for Calendar, Contacts, Tasks, and Notes
- Palm Tungsten W or Sony UX50: Direct 802.11 wireless support
We could also use some support from vendors, such as TapWave, Handspring (now part of palmOne), Sony, and others, to help get these devices working under your Operating System of choice; Unix, Linux, or OSX. If you want them to begin supporting our project (Handspring already has, by donating a Treo90 unit to help get it working under the Linux kernel), please write or call them directly.
If you can spare a unit (or units) for testing and development (which will be used with the utmost care), please ship it to the following address:
pilot-link Development
c/o David A. Desrosiers
36 Bellevue Place, Suite 2
New London, CT 06320-4702
Or contact me directly and I can give you more details.
When development is completed with the unit, it will be returned back to you in the same or better condition than when it was received.
If you cannot spare your Palm unit for development, you may also donate funds to the project, by using the PayPal form on the right side of this webiste. These go towards keeping the site, cvs, domains, and mailing lists running, as well as helping pay for development Palm units for testing.
There is also an href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/registry/registry.html/103-8057369-8327869?id=VMLRJS27FRGZ">Amazon Wish List with many helpful books and materials that we could use to further development.
If you can't donate monetarily, there are many other ways to donate to Free Software projects, such as pilot-link. There is a good HOWTO called HOWTO Pay for Free Software that describes many other ways to contribute.
Thank you again for your continued support and appreciation for pilot-link and the rest of the project.
