Has anyone a 650 sync with openSUSE 10.0 that works?? I was really hoping that it would finally be plug and play with 10.0 but alas... tis not to be? Does anyone have a success story?

I have been able to sync a

I have been able to sync a Treo 700p w/openSUSE 10.2 using the USB cable and opensync / KitchenSync to KDE Desktop. Device of /dev/pilot should be set. If when you plug in your Treo and press the hotsync button, you should see Kernel messages like:

usb 2-2: new full speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 53
usb 2-2: new device found, idVendor=0830, idProduct=0061
usb 2-2: new device strings: Mfr=1, Product=2, SerialNumber=5
usb 2-2: Product: Palm Handheld
usb 2-2: Manufacturer: Palm, Inc.
usb 2-2: SerialNumber: PalmSN12345678
usb 2-2: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice
visor 2-2:1.0: Handspring Visor / Palm OS converter detected
usb 2-2: Handspring Visor / Palm OS converter now attached to ttyUSB0
usb 2-2: Handspring Visor / Palm OS converter now attached to ttyUSB1

So long as you do see that, the hardware is recognized. I was unable to get pilot-xfer to work properly so far... I don't know why because it uses the same libraries...

The 700p should be very similar to the 650 in terms of syncing and Kernel support.

Give me a moment to help you..

I'm installing 10.0 here from the SUSE Linux Enterprise 10 2-DVD set now, so I can try this out and help you. I have both a 650 and a 680, so I can test a few different options and scenarios.
